Julie Dumler, 22 years old, began acting when she moved to Independence
in 1999. In high school, she participated in IHS musicals, the 24-Hour
Plays, and the Anna Plays at ICC - for which she won the Best Actress
award in 2002. Splendor in the Grass is her twentieth play. She
has also starred as Emily in "Our Town" at ICC and had
a minor role in Neewollah's "Little Shop of Horrors."
Julie received her AA from Coffeyville Community College in May
2005. During her time at Coffeyville, she enjoyed her roles in Steve
Martin's "The Underpants," the musical "Bat Boy,"
and many hilarious plays by Mark Frank, including "Just Being
Barry White" and "Greek Soup." She received Irene
Ryan Acting Award nominations for her roles in "Greek Soup"
and "Joan" Julie is a member of the Rubber Chicken Factory
Improvisational Comedy Troupe under the direction of Princess Bethanie
Frank. Bethanie also directed Julie in "Bunny, Bunny"
for her sophomore project playing Gilda Radner. Julie starred in
the student film "Bend" at CCC, based on the Mark Frank
play, and a DeAnza student film in California. She also participates
in the drama group at Tyro Christian Church.
